White House - the Preschool Divison

whitehouselogo.jpgThe Preschool at St. Mark's is situated adjacent to the main school building in the aptly named "White House".  Our program offers classes for students ranging from two to five years of age.  The "YK-3" or Young K-3 class is a three or five day offering for those children who will turn three by late Winter and are toilet trained.  The "K-3" classes offer three and five day options for students turning four during the school year or following summer.  Our "K-4" program is a five day class and serves students who will turn five during the school year or following summer. The three day programs are offerred on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Class sizes are capped at twelve and each room functions with a Lead Teacher and Teaching Assistant.  For your convenience, we offer several different pick-up times throughout the day.  Information on our Afterschool at St. Mark's or ASM program can be found on the ASM tab on the White House link.

The emphasis of our program is to nurture the whole child in eight different ways as indicated on the White House logo.  These areas are cognitive, language, social, emotional, spiritual and physical. We also stress independence and the responsibilities of stewardship towards others and the Earth.  We realize the tremendous growth; especially in social and cognitive processes, at this stage in life and strive to provide developmentally appropriate learning opportunities in fun and meaningful ways.
