Our school librarian is Mrs. Bonnie-Lyn Ray, and she is also the Book Fair Coordinator. The library at St. Mark’s Cathedral School annually hosts two Scholastic book fairs. We are very proud that our library budget is solely supported by fundraising through our annual book sales.
Barnes & Noble in-store Holiday Book Fair to Benefit SMCS Library
Are you beginning to make your list and check it twice? We are so excited to offer our St. Mark’s students, parents, grandparents, and alumni the opportunity to make a difference by earning money for our library while Christmas shopping either in store or online. On Friday, December 2, SMCS will host a book fair at the Barnes & Noble on Youree Drive in the Bayou Walk Shopping Center. We will earn approximately 20% on our gross sales including the café and a fabulous new selection of reasonably-priced educational games and toys (including Legos). With our book fair ID number (10614592), friends and family members can shop at any Barnes & Noble store on December 2, and we’ll get credit. With this number, online shopping will be available as well from December 2nd through December 7th. For our online sales, we will receive 12% of our gross sales.
Parents may shop on their own during the day, and we’ll have special activities go on during the afternoon and evening. Please make a night of it – have dinner in the café! In addition to delicious sandwiches and desserts, they are now serving yummy pizza!
Beginning at 4:00, St. Mark’s will have a check-in table at the entrance to the store. Students and teachers who check-in at this table will receive a JEANS DAY on Monday, December 5! Grandparents or special friends who check-in will be able to put their child on the list for an after-school Christmas movie party with Mrs. Ray.
A gift wrap station will be available as well, with all donations going directly to our library and technology fund. This will operate from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. If you would be willing to wrap for an hour or so, please contact Mrs. Ray immediately at blray@stmarksschool.com.
Our most exciting announcement is that we will be raffling a new NOOK TABLET! For every $25 spent, you will receive an entry into the raffle.
