In the heart of the city, the tower of St. Mark’s Cathedral is a symbol to the citizens of Shreveport-Bossier of the Cathedral’s mission “to love and serve the world for Christ.” St. Mark’s Cathedral School is an extension of that mission and seeks to help its students, regardless of religious affiliation, realize their potential and become self-confident educationally, socially, and spiritually so that they may then reach out to help others in our community.
Our strong curriculum, coupled with small class sizes and age-appropriate worship and religion classes for all students, ensures that we nurture each student’s heart and mind.
Over the past fifty years, our hundreds of graduates have attended an impressive list of colleges and universities throughout the nation. Many have gone on to obtain graduate and professional degrees and great success in business and the professions. We are proud of their character and achievements—and that many have chosen to educate their own children at St. Mark’s.
St. Mark’s Cathedral School is fully accredited through and a member of the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools (SAES). The Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools (SAES) is a member in good standing of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Commission on Accreditation. It has voluntarily agreed to abide by the Commission’s Criteria for Effective Independent School Accreditation Practices and to submit to a thorough review and evaluation of its accreditation standards, criteria, and procedures. SAES is recognized by state agencies and by eleven Episcopal dioceses within the six states served by SAES.
St. Mark’s is also a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools, the National Association of Independent Schools, the Center for Spiritual and Ethical Education, the National Middle Schools Association, the Louisiana Association of Independent Schools, and the Association of Shreveport Private Schools.
